A new association in the HVAC sector was recently created in Italy: Climgas, Gas-fired Air Conditioning Appliance Distributors' and Manufacturers' Association. Founded within the framework of ANIMA, the Federation of the Italian Associations of Mechanical and Engineering Industries, Climgas has the objective of promoting gas-fired air conditioning appliances, which use gas (natural gas, GPL, biomass, etc.) as primary energy, directly or indirectly. Its president is Paolo Colaiemma. According to ANIMA's press release, one of the new association's aims is to provide technical data and information that can facilitate the use of this kind of equipment. Climgas wants to undertake promotional campaigns, researches, technical and normative studies as well as economical researches and statistics. The association also intends to verify that the equipments manufactured respect the technical and performance characteristics indicated in each company's catalogues. ANIMA is the industrial organisation which represents all major companies of the mechanical and engineering industry within the Italian Confederation of the Industry - Confindustria, a field that gives work to 200.000 employees and reaches a turnover of 40 billion EUR and a 50% rate of export/turnover.
